Meet Dr. Conoyer
J. Matthew Conoyer, MD, FACS, FAAOA
Dr. Conoyer is a seventh-generation resident of St. Charles County and a second-generation otolaryngologist-head & neck surgeon. He completed his pre-medical undergraduate studies at St. Louis University, where he majored in biology while minoring in philosophy and theology. There he was recognized with the university’s most elite students with early inductions into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society. He graduated summa cum laude in 1999 as one of a handful selected nationwide for early admission to the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Vanderbilt in 2003.
After medical school, Dr. Conoyer continued his medical training in Nashville at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, serving both his surgical internship from 2003-2004 and residency in Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery from 2004-2008. During residency, he authored multiple textbook chapters and original scientific articles, and received the American Academy of Otolaryngology’s Resident Leadership Award in 2008.
Since joining Midwest ENT in 2008, Dr. Conoyer has nurtured special interests in emerging medical technologies and minimally-invasive surgical procedures that improve patient outcomes. Having helped introduce in-office balloon sinus dilation procedures to the bi-state area, he remains among the Midwest’s most experienced minimally-invasive sinus surgeons and has hosted otolaryngologists from across the country to teach his techniques. Dr. Conoyer is a co-founder of Metro Sinus and serves as President and medical director of allergy immunotherapy for Midwest ENT Centre, P.C.
Dr. Conoyer is board-certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. He enjoys working with his parish and local community organizations, coaching youth basketball and the shooting sports.
